In truth, not many of us ever find ourselves faced with writing a eulogy. Something they know would make the deceased proud to hear of.
To be given the task of delivering a eulogy is really an honor hence the responsibility of providing a clear and positive picture of the person you will be talking about is in order. Perhaps you're not accustomed to public speaking, and the mere thought of speaking in front of a crowd makes you nervous. There is typically little research that needs to be done.
Look for a focal point or make eye contact with someone who can provide that extra strength you need. If you are still looking for funeral poems, I have written more on the subject which I hope you may find useful. Poems ranging from heartfelt and sad to lighthearted and even funny have been written by amateur and professional poetry writers to put words to the feelings that are expressed after someone has died.
As hard as it may seem right now, it gets better. Above all, remember to breathe.
