an example of an obituary - take time to reflect

Having the obituary already written and on file with your funeral provider, is not as difficult to do as you may think. In some cases, the surviving family members will address all the funeral details when they make the arrangements.

It is at once something personal and a way to involve all of those present in remembering the good things about the life of the person who has passed on. These three words are enough to convey to the grieving person that you understand the importance of the deceased person in his life and that you share his sadness. Having a memorial poem or poetry to look back upon can really be an emotional strengthener.

A poem should be written subtly and ensure it is not too emotional. A poem for the deceased that prompts that thought is invaluable after a loved one has died. They have no family minister and would prefer a celebration of the life lived rather than a sermon.

Don't worry if it runs just a bit longer, take a deep breath and try to relax. Ultimately, the most important thing is to reflect the unique personality of the deceased.
