marietta daily journal obituaries - Take Some Time To Yourself

When I lost my mother there was no way on earth that I could have written a shopping list never mind poems for funeral tributes. Generally, people who are requested to deliver eulogies are those people who are considered to know best the deceased person.

It is usually read to commemorate a dearly departed, to celebrate the life spent here on earth and the memories that go with him. An important step is to consider the finer points of the life history of the person. Written words can be much more effective than spoken condolences at reaching a grieving person's heart.

Where did you loved one like to go on a Saturday afternoons, the beach, the tennis club, the golf course, fishing by a stream or to football games. Many families today do not participate in an organized religion or church. People should realize through the poem that they lived with a kind soul and great person.

Draft your eulogy then try to edit and polish your work. Grief is not something we can simply set aside.
