funeral readings

It is a sensitive time and a sad one for anyone dealing with the loss of a loved one. Regardless if the eulogy is about a loved one, a co-worker, a friend, while you are grieving the last thing you desire to do is stand up in front of a group of people you may or may not know and bare your soul, emotions and your grief.

Memorial service poems can actually put everyone more at ease during a funeral or memorial service. In trying times it can be a struggle to keep your composure, however making notes will help you focus. Another part of a good statement will describe some shared memories of the deceased.

An obituary also contains a list of immediate survivors like children, grandchildren, spouse or siblings who were closely associated with the deceased. You should refer to the deceased person by name, using no other terms. A funeral poem should about the person and their journey through life more than writing down your feelings.

Think about your life and what would you like most remembered. Keep in mind, when writing a eulogy, this type of speech should last anywhere from four to ten minutes.
